Bleed Printing at Fast Print

Bleed vs No Bleed on Documents

FAQs

Most digital printers do no print all the way to the edge of a sheet of paper. In order to create the effect of bleed, we need to run the job on larger paper and then trim it down to size. Therefore, an 11×17 inch poster with bleeds needs to run on 12×18 inch paper. If no bleed is required, there will be a small white border around the artwork, usually about 1/8 – 1/4 inch.

FastPrint would appreciate 1/8 – 1/4 inch of bleed to be provided on any document where bleed printing is required. We also prefer to have crop marks set up like in the example below. This way we can make sure the finished appearance matches the design as intended.
